Bio: Nicholas Grojean is an attorney with the law firm of Ancel, Glink, Diamond, Bush DiCianni & Krafthefer, P.C. which has offices in Chicago, Vernon Hills, Bloomington, Naperville and Crystal Lake. Nick received his undergraduate degree cum laude and phi beta kappa from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2000. He graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign-Urbana in 2004, with honors in advocacy.

While attending law school, Nick worked for a federal judge for the Northern District of Illinois, and for the United States House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform. Immediately following law school, he served as a law clerk for the State of Vermont Judiciary.

Nick has been an associate attorney at Ancel Glink's Chicago office since January 2005, and starting in May 2009, he will be working out of Ancel Glink's new Downstate Office in Bloomington. Nick concentrates his practice on municipal and park district law, and has represented municipalities, park districts and other units of local government with a variety of legal issues, including general corporate governance, litigation, real estate, land use and public finance. Nick also specializes in property taxation matters, including revenue, exemptions, defense of assessment appeals, and property acquisition through the tax sale process.

Nick has authored and edited various articles and handbooks addressing local government law, including the Illinois Municipal Handbook, the Illinois Park District Handbook and the Laws and Duties Township Handbook.
