Bio: David Lincoln Ader has been an attorney with Ancel, Glink, Diamond, Bush, DiCianni & Krafthefer, P.C., since 1983. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Northwestern University School of Law, where he also did further graduate work. He received his B.S. from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He has taught as an adjunct professor of law at both the Valparaiso University School of Law, where he taught environmental law, and Northern Illinois University School of Law, where he taught evidence. Mr. Ader is a past chairman of both the Constitutional Law Committee and the Development of the Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and is a past member of the Board of the Federal Bar Association, Chicago Chapter, has served on other bar association committees and is a member of the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association. Additionally, Mr. Ader has served as an arbitrator for both the Circuit Court of Cook County Illinois and the American Arbitration Association and has served as a hearing officer for the Illinois Pollution Control Board. Mr. Ader has served on the Board of the Illinois State Pollution Control Financing Authority.

Mr. Ader has represented many kinds of governmental bodies, including municipal, park district, university, school district, airport authority, port authority and library, and has represented counties. He has also served as a consultant to a State Senate concerning federalism and federal pre-emption, exercise of the police power in relation to navigable waters and environmental matters.

He has consulted regarding or participated in lawsuits brought in the circuit courts of many of the counties of Illinois and in the United States District Courts of all three districts of Illinois. He has handled matters before a variety of administrative agencies, including the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board, the Illinois Pollution Control Board and the Illinois Commerce Commission, and has worked with federal agencies.

He has extensive experience in briefing and arguing cases, representing clients, either as a party or as an amicus curiae, before the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Courts in all five Appellate Districts and the Seventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals. He is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Ader has written and lectured on legal topics. One of his articles won First Place in the Illinois State Bar Association's Lincoln Award legal writing contest. He contributed to the 2001 revised Municipal Handbook, produced by Ancel, Glink, Diamond, Bush, DiCianni & Krafthefer, P.C., and published by the Illinois Municipal League. He has spoken to lawyers, elected officials, risk managers and other professionals on various legal aspects. Among the groups that Mr. Ader has spoken before are the Illinois Municipal League, the Illinois Treasurer's Association, the Public Risk Management Association ("PRIMA"), the Association of Governmental Risk Pools ("Agrip"), and the Defense Research Institute ("DRI").

Mr. Ader serves as special counsel to clients across the state dealing with a variety of special, unusual or sophisticated legal problems and processes and before various judicial and administrative bodies.
